You are invited to the COAT WA panel discussion about the WA Courts and Tribunals Reconciliation Statement
The Statement makes a commitment “to ensure that Western Australian courts and tribunals are culturally sensitive and culturally safe, and to foster mutually respectful relationships between our courts and tribunals and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people” as well as to “improve access to court and tribunal services”. This exceptional panel will discuss the development of the Statement and practical steps that tribunals can take to honour the commitment made: • The Hon Justice Peter Quinlan, Chief Justice of Western Australia • Her Honour Judge Wendy Hughes, District Court and Dandjoo Bidi-Ak court of the Children’s Court • Gina Hill, Executive Director, Aboriginal Justice Transformation , Department of Justice • Nikita Hawke, Executive Manager, Aboriginal Strategic Services, Department of Justice Collegiality starts at 5pm with registration and continues over drinks at the conclusion of the event at the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission Level 18, 111 St Georges Terrace Thursday 14 September 2023 From 5:00 pm Drinks & Food included |
